ABOUT ME
WHO AM I?
First and foremost I'm a filmmaker, but my love for the arts transcends many mediums. I have deep interests in Cinema, ModelMaking, Music, Painting, and the cultures that surround them.
I'm a firm believer that all art is connected, that no medium should be isolated from another. In turn this has become my motivation to explore as many artistic paths as possible, to build my own personal bridges between mediums. My reasoning behind this is to gauge a greater artistic awareness, furthering my understanding of art as a concept and in turn a way of life.
Model Making is an avenue I have been eager to explore, I've had a long standing interest in the art but despite this have only recently considered pursuing it further. Rediscovering the craft came at a time when I was unsure of where next to take my artistic endeavours. Stumbling upon on model making courses unintentionally was as Bob Ross says: "A happy little accident", as it awoke a passion once again. Figures such as Adam Savage have been key in inspiring me to pursue model making , as well as teaching me some of the fundamentals of the craft. With model making's ties to cinema through studios such as Industrial Light & Magic, it felt like a very personal pursuit as the practical and special effects they conceived, for films I love, define my childhood and hold a special place in my heart.

SKILLS
Through studying a range of artistic subjects both in education and my own time I've developed a variety of transferable skills. I have also gained knowledge of the various art industries.
Art and Design Skills
Portraiture and wildlife drawing and painting, cemented the foundations of my artistic abilities in texture and tone. My media studies have built upon this by expanding my design capabilities, gaining an understanding of how to utilise design software like GIMP. This has given me an awareness of how to use effective design elements such as typography, colour scheming and scaling to convey ideas.
Research Skills
Film and TV are heavily audience driven so research skills have been key when producing pieces of work. I can critically analyse and breakdown a target demographic and in turn apply that information to my work to reach my intended audience.

Technical skills
Throughout my studies I have had experience with a variety of technical software and hardware. I have gained strong IT literacy through design software and coding programs such as Brackets. Working with Final Cut Pro I have developed my own editing style and understanding of rhythm and pacing. In terms of hardware I am practiced in camera and photography skills, having experience with Canon XHA1s and DSLRs. I am also well versed in lighting, being able to effectively rig up 3 point lighting schemes to obtain desired lighting states.

Teamwork and Communication
Working in film crews has greatly increased my communication abilities and furthermore taught me why team work is fundamental in creative industries. I understand what it takes to effectively manage a team through directing, but also what is required of me as a crew member to fulfil my individual role.
